Great recipes every day.

Sugar Free Dessert: Chocolate Delight

I love hosting family dinners, but all of us struggle with our weight. So, I like to serve a sugar free dessert that we can enjoy without all the guilt. This sugar free chocolate delight fits the bill!

How easy is that? I love a dessert that doesn’t require baking as I am much better at melting and chilling than baking. And, this sugar free dessert is reminiscent of a trifle, my favorite layered dessert. Thank you to Jeannine of Jeannine’s Craft Room for this awesome recipe.

Ingredients for sugar free chocolate delight

1 Package of Sugar Free Chocolate Pudding (dry mix only)
1 8 oz container of Sugar Free Cool Whip
2 cups of cold Milk
4 oz of Cream Cheese at room temperature
1/2 cup of no calorie sweetener such as Splenda
1/2 package of Sugar Free Creme Sandwich Cookies
2 Tbs of Butter
1/2 cup Chopped Pecans – optional

Tip Time!

Tip #1: Pop the cream cheese in the microwave for twenty to thirty seconds to loosen it. It will be easier to mix and spread.

Tip #2: Don’t skimp on chilling time. The layers will be much easier to spread if bottom layers are chilled completely.

Tip #3: As Jeannine mentioned in the video, sugar free chocolate cookies work well in this recipe as well. Murray makes all sorts of sugar free cookies, and I’ve never had one I didn’t like.

So, I mentioned the lack of guilt earlier. This bowl full of goodness comes in at 256 calories per serving (recipe makes eight servings). Not bad at all especially considering the full sugar version of chocolate delight packs nearly 400 calories into bowl and stomach.

If you’re wondering what dish to make this in, any casserole dish will do, but I love the CorningWare Jeannine uses in the video. If you’re looking for a casserole baking and serving set that will last a lifetime and beyond, look no further than the old standard CorningWare.

I received a set for my wedding nearly 20 years ago and use the pieces constantly. They still look as white and lovely as the day I unpacked them, and have NO CHIPS! (My husband was military so we’ve moved 12 times. No lie. So, I either had the best movers twelve times or CorningWare is magical.)

Happy eating, my friends!
